PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Principle Duties
Age 2-4 YEAR OLD TEACHER
Physical care giving
Complete monthly lessons and goals following age-appropriate curriculum plan
Maintain regular observations and evaluations of children’s development and progress
Ensure the safety of each child in the classroom, common areas and on the playgrounds
Serve as a role model in the areas of speech, actions, and attitudes at all times
Encourage and model self-help skills
Treat each child and their family with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background
Interact with each child daily
Encourage children’s development of building self confidence, problem solving, and exploration that will benefit and satisfy their innate curiosity
Engage children in activities and play that stimulates exploratory development and discovery
Maintain and assist daily maintenance and order of the facility, structures, and classrooms appearance, cleanliness, and décor of the environment
Facilitate and support social-emotional development and relationships with Director, co-workers, parents, and students
Attends all staff meetings and mandatory preschool functions.
Adhere to State licensing and The Learning Experience requirements
Maintain a professional self-image and project The Learning Experience values at all times
Maintain and adhere to The Learning Experience standards
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
Developmental assessments
Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate practices that meet the children’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs
Supervise and enhance training of Teacher Assistants in the classroom, ensuring they follow The Learning Experience policies and expectations
Preparing of meals and snacks
Opening and closing of the school
Attend conferences, workshops and other professional growth experiences
Required Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum 12 postsecondary semester units in early childhood education from an accredited college and six months of work experience in a licensed Child Care Center or similar program. The units specified shall include courses covering child growth and development; child, family and community; and program/curriculum.
- 15 hours Health & Safety Training
- 18+ years of age
Preferred Skills
CPR & First Aid certifications, DOJ Livescan clearance, Mandated Reporter Training, ongoing college enrollment
Additional Notes
- Must be able to pass drug screen, TB screening of negative test result, Criminal Background Check, and able to meet the physical requirements of kneeling, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 70 pounds_
- Clearances required prior to the first day of employment_
- Reliable transportation is a must

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
