Description:
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent production of high-quality molded products. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards, processes, and procedures while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any quality-related issues. Your expertise in quality control, statistical analysis, and process optimization will contribute to our commitment to delivering top-tier products to our clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
- Operates computed tomography system and interpret outputs to compare molded parts to 3D-engineered models.
- Creates, edits, and optimizes Micro-Vu Vertex (In-Spec Software) inspection programs utilized in the dimensional inspection of molded and purchased components.
- Utilizes SolidWorks or Inventor for the design, manufacture, and qualification of 3D-printed fixtures for use in the measurement and assembly of components.
- Conducts QC inspections of molded components using AQL sampling methods, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and established quality standards for both dimensional accuracy and cosmetic defects.
- Coordinates and documents engineering test runs for new and existing products to assess their quality and performance.
- Collaborates with suppliers on corrective actions following failed incoming inspections or quality advisements.
- Applies problem-solving tools to identify and address root causes of defects in manufactured components.
- Develops comprehensive work instructions, process maps, and quality assurance procedures as needed.
- Reviews engineering change notices (ECNs) to ensure proper implementation of changes.
- Monitors and tracks departmental quality metrics such as RMA's, CAR's, deviations, and FAI's.
- Assist in tracking and maintaining quality documentation, including engineering test results and inspection reports.
- Facilitates departmental training programs to ensure team members are up to date on quality standards and processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
- Experience with GOM software related to CT scanner.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Experience with InSpec programming software related to the Micro-Vu Vertex automated precision measurement system.
- Experience/ Certification in ISO 9001
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) certification.
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting intricate drawings and blueprints.
- Possesses advanced proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office software.
- Holds a comprehensive understanding of industry standards.
- Provide exceptional and comprehensive support to internal stakeholders, including the Production and Engineering departments.
