Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant/LPN

JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates, implements, and documents patient care based on vitals taken (as needed) at patient office visit by performing assigned duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
General - High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Alabama Nursing License or CMA
- Effective written, verbal, and audio communication skills
- Ability to interact well with co-workers, physicians and patients
- CPR Certification
- Electronic Medical Record experience and/or related education
- Professional and ethical conduct
Physical
- Ability to read, comprehend, interpret documents
- Ability to write reports
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, managers, patients and staff
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to reach, bend, push, pull, lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform duties and operate equipment requiring the use of knobs, switches, button, levers, etc.
- Ability to stand and move through the clinic for up to 10 hours
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for answering phones, returning patient phone calls, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and e-prescribing
- Responsible for checking all charts for scheduled patients and have all info needed for clinic
- Responsible for drawing up any medications
- Responsible for scheduling surgeries and any follow up appointments
- Responsible for preparing rooms for surgery
- Responsible for assisting where needed during the surgical procedure
- Responsible for ordering and stocking supplies
- Responsible for cleaning exam rooms
- Responsible for preparing instruments for autoclave
- Responsible for maintaining refrigerator log and eyewash station log
- Responsible for completing all laundry when assigned
- Responsible for documenting in electronic medical record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
