SUMMARY: The IAM Benefit Funds Office (BFO) is searching for a Business Analyst to support its Quality Assurance Records Department (QARD). The Business Analyst will evaluate and assess various processes across departments to identify and implement necessary system and process enhancements. The day-to-day objectives will involve gathering and documenting business requirements, performing UAT testing on system enhancements, and enforcement of sound operational processes and procedures across all departments. The Business Analyst will report directly to the Manager of the Quality Assurance Records Department (QARD).
The purpose of the QARD department is to ensure all departments are following proper processes and procedures, using the Benefits Administration System correctly and to its fullest extent, providing useful data analytics to the BFO’s Executive Leadership Team, amongst other duties related to Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, and Record Retention.

- Draft and track requirement documents for enhancements to existing Benefit Administration System (the BAS).
- Analyze teams’ current usage of the BAS to identify training gaps, needed procedural updates, system enhancements, and create system FAQ databases.
- Create detailed departmental analysis to provide Executive Leadership with an accurate picture of inefficiencies, incomplete or non-compliant procedures, and opportunities for improvement across the organization.
- Draft, inventory, and test Standard Operating Procedures across all departments.
- Create and monitor training metrics to validate training effectiveness.
- Liaise with management to coordinate process improvement activities.
- Organize and perform User Acceptance Testing on system enhancements.
- Monitor and track Manage Engine and JIRA Tickets related to BAS enhancements.
- Perform data forecasting for various departments to help streamline work and set appropriate staffing levels.
- Test regulatory projects – such as Annual Statements, Actuarial Projects, Form 5500 – SSA letters, 1095-B, PCORI and PBGC payments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Excellent Project Management, Process Management, Business Analysis, and Data Analysis skills.
- Advanced technical writing skills, a sample will be required if selected for an interview.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with Power BI or similar software desired.
- SQL familiarity preferred.
- Familiarity with additional workflow and Business Process Management technologies preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, especially around requirements gathering and process and procedure documentation. As well as providing corrective instruction and training to staff of all levels.
- Attention to detail, and the ability to explain the importance of details to all departments.
- Must have the ability to work independently and take initiative, working in an organized manner while multi-tasking.
- Working well under pressure and under regulatory scrutiny is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field i.e. Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or Accounting preferred.
- 2-5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or related role required.
- ERISA experience highly desirable.
- Experience with Vitech’s V3 suite of systems is a plus.
