Position: Human Resources Assistant
Location: Sacramento - Headquarters
Schedule: Monday - Friday (8 am to 5 pm)
Compensation: $23.15/hour
The Cooperative Agricultural Support Services (CASS) is a Joint Powers Authority that helps protect and support California's agricultural industry and the consumers of its products by providing services and staff who fairly, impartially, and dependably carry out their work.
The HR Assistant position resides in the headquarters office in Sacramento, CA. We seek an energetic, self-motivated assistant who is committed to being an HR support partner and a front desk receptionist when needed.
Requirements
Under the direction of the Executive Officer, as well as operating within established guidelines and procedures, the incumbent in this position provides various services depending on the needs of the office. These services are, but are not limited to:
Assist the Human Resources and Recruiting Department
· Schedule interviews for the recruiting team
· Support the team in the new hire onboarding process
· Schedule new hire orientation at agency locations
· Respond to basic new hire questions and provide information as needed
· Create employee badges
· Monitor team email boxes, respond to basic questions, and escalate requests as needed
· File employee new hire documents and manage record-keeping for current and terminated employees
Perform Front Desk Reception Duties
· 2-3 years' experience as an HR or administrative assistant/ receptionist experience a plus
· Familiar with MS Office Suite, especially Outlook
· Experience making travel arrangements
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Open office at 8 am and close doors at 5 pm
· Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
· Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls
· Assist the Executive Officer and Executive Assistant upon request
· Process incoming and outgoing mail
· Maintain the Conference Room calendar
· Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, transcribing, and faxing
· Open to a long-term commitment
Assist the Finance Department
· Check deposit slips, prepare weekly, and send notifications
· Office supplies
· Handle all requests from HQ and District Offices
· Maintain inventory of HQ stock
· Maintain all order logs
· Handle travel requests for District Offices.
· Handle claims
· Process travel advances
Requirements
· Work Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday
· High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Outlook, Word, Excel; Zoom conferencing
· 3+ years’ experience working in an office environment performing administrative functions
· Valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
· Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment
· Self-Starter and proactive
· Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills
· Excellent Time Management and Organizational skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle conflict in a discreet and professional manner

Competitive starting salary at $23.15
