Job Title: Regional Youth Director
Reports to: Corporate Director of Camps/ Kids Club
As a Regional Youth Director, I understand that part of my responsibility is working to ensure my ability to step into the responsibilities of the Corporate Director, if the opportunity should arise. Therefore, I take extreme ownership in every aspect of youth (Kids Club / Camp) operations. I understand that I am actively being groomed to be able to take on additional leadership responsibilities. I am committed to playing from BE to ensure that I understand and am competent regarding every aspect of Mighty Camp and work to ensure a smooth transition of leadership when the opportunity arises.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: MASTER LIST
1. I work in conjunction with the Executive Youth Director to identify ways to take the Sports Camp experience to the next level via reviewing team member, parent and camper feedback at the end of each season. I use a data driven process to ensure the camp experience exceeds expectations year after year.
2. I am responsible for ensuring each location I am responsible for has accurate Sign-In Sheets, Camper Trackers, Camper Files, and payments.
3. I am responsible for training seasonal camp directors and counselors to properly execute each season’s camp programming- Camp Fire, Improv, STEAM, Kids Move, Fun with Food, specialty themed activities and Character First/ Life Skills programming in alignment with our Mighty Way.
4. I establish proper office organization, detailed program planning, and I maintain an up to date program library of current and past programming material
5. I am responsible for taking extreme ownership regarding pre-season projects outlined in the Pre-season Project Tracker and each week’s Mighty Mountain projects. I am responsible for playing from BE to ensure each project is completed on time and updated in the tracker to effectively communicate where I am with each project on a weekly cadence.
6. I am responsible for supporting each seasonal Camp Site Director in securing the proper materials for each program
7. I am responsible for working/ and ensuring proper staffing for each No School Day Camp, Parents’ Night Out, B-day Parties, and teaching classes to ensure I remain an active member of the Youth community at the location in which my primary workstation is housed and to ensure I stay sharp in regards to youth development skills and the interests of the demographic in which our programs serve
8. I support the Executive Camp Director in developing Sports Camp programming curriculum (Fun with Food, STEAM, Yoga, Balanced Kids, Learn to Plays, Kids Move, Improv, Character First) by actively sharing feedback regarding the camp experience

I am responsible for facilitating an on-Purpose pre-season program training experience and for intentionally auditing the camp experience to ensure quality execution and consistent Brand delivery
10. I am responsible for ensuring that KPIs, revenue and expense budgets are consistently met for the locations I am responsible for: Mighty Camp, Parent’s Night Out, NSDC, Kid Fit classes, and Birthday Parties
11. I am responsible for securing and maintaining the state licenses for the locations I oversee,
if applicable
12. I am responsible for supporting with processing camp/program enrollment and auditing the registration system for each camp location I oversee to ensure state compliance and best practices are upheld
13. I am responsible for visiting each camp location I oversee on a weekly basis, to ensure an on-Brand delivery of Mighty Camp operations and for intentionally walking all 6 Pathways, while present, to model the way for the seasonal camp team.
14. I attend Team meetings and events and support fellow Team members in doing the same
15. I work to develop strong relationships with members and Team members, and commit to creating an On-Brand, enjoyable and inviting atmosphere for both members and Team within my department
16. I am responsible for ensuring on Brand implementation and consistent execution of Kid Fit programming at the locations I oversee
17. I work to maintain a strong, integrated working relationship with the Kids Club Teams for the locations I oversee. I am directly responsible for ensuring the competency of this team regarding their ability to speak to all things youth and their ability to execute an on-Brand Kid Club operation, PNO, Kid Fit Classes, and B-day Parties.
18. I am responsible for facilitating the trainings necessary to support this team’s ability to host monthly PNO events and Birthday Parties.
19. I work hard to attend all Kids Club meetings and trainings to ensure I am a connected and valued member of the team. I execute ongoing training for this team to ensure their youth engagement/ performance reinforces our Mighty Way.
20. I am responsible for auditing Kids Club operations, within my region, on a monthly basis to ensure performance metrics are being met and the team has the accountability necessary to perform with consistency.
21. I work hard to grow to BE the balanced leader (E, A, I & P) the company needs me to be. This means that I take responsibility for identifying new potential youth programs/ services for the locations that I oversee
22. I am responsible for ensuring payroll is accurate across each program and each location I oversee
23. I am responsible for ensuring accurate marketing content for the programs and locations I oversee
24. I am responsible for ensuring proper staffing and onboarding of A+ team members for all programs at all locations in my region.
25. I ensure that all my locations and Zones are on Brand.
PHYSICAL and MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. This position is salaried and full-time year-round.
2. This position requires a person be physically fit and mentally alert. There may be a need for standing, walking, sitting, lifting, kneeling, reaching, handling, thinking, reasoning, and calculating, some of it constant.
3. This position has an inherent amount of physical and mental stress. All candidates must be prepared for and capable of adapting to such conditions.
4. The ability to efficiently run Excel, Word, Outlook, and other software packages used by the Company is a requirement for this position.
5. A positive attitude and professional behavior are expected and displayed consistently in all dealings with members and/or fellow Team members. This person is expected to be a role model on a daily basis as a living example of the Purpose and Values of the Company.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
1. The work is primarily indoors, but dependent on conditions, work out of doors may occasionally be required.
2. Genesis Health Clubs strives to maintain a safe, healthy and pleasant working environment, but the Team member is expected to notify his/her superior immediately to repair any potentially unhealthy defect, condition, or situation.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. 2+ years of experience within the youth professional industry (camp experience preferred)
2. Previous experience writing developmentally appropriate program curriculums
3. Bachelor’s Degree (Recreation/Tourism, Child Development, Health and Exercise Science)
4. Healthy and physically fit
5. Literate in English and basic math
6. Highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Passionate about working with children
8. A strong understanding of Customer Service
9. Effective organizational skills
10. Available to work days and evenings as needed
11. Reliable transportation to tour and support the 6 KCK GHC locations: Merriam, Olathe, East Olathe, Ridgeview, Overland Park, and North Overland Park.
