Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and root planing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia to patients as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health instructions
- Conduct thorough oral examinations and screenings for signs of oral diseases
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic dental software (Dentrix)
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
Requirements:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene or related field
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (preferred Dentrix)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation
- Understanding of medical records management
