Responsible for the leadership of the Southeast/NorthEast Region maintenance department including the operation of the physical company maintenance facilities and the company assets which includes a fleet of straight trucks, tractors, trailers, and chassis. This position will lead the Shop Managers, Supervisors, and Technicians throughout our Southeast Regions.
Region: Southeast/Midwest: North Carolina – Florida & Texas
Terminals of coverage: Charleston SC, Conley GA, Savannah GA, Plant City FL, Miami FL
Job description
- Direct oversight and planning of the company shops and rolling assets within the above region.
- Create and maintain efficient shop performance standards (standard repair times (SRT’s) KPI’s, procedures (SOP’s) and policies
- Maintain strict adherence to company operations, safety policies, and develop/amend SOP’s as needed
- Adherence and awareness of all DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA rules/regulations
- Create and assure the accuracy of parts inventories and monitory cost versus budget
- Maintain department budget to control maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs
- Oversee vehicle preventive maintenance schedules and process
- Interview, train and coach subordinate staff members and complete employee assessments and performance reviews
- Be a strong leader for the company’s driver retention efforts with your entire staff through encouragement, coaching and active participation within your department and throughout the entire company
- Direct supervisory staff in the planning of rolling stock repair and maintenance jobs
- Operate and utilize computerized diagnostic (TMT) and other tracking systems
- Provide reports to senior leadership weekly/monthly
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
- Create and implement a business plan for area of responsibility including processes, protocols and procedures to streamline productivity and set benchmarks. Update as necessary
- Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Develop relationships with OEM’s, outside vendors to ensure current, future technology and outside assistance
- Develop a written Safety and Health Program, Hazard Communication Program, PPE Assessment – Written Hazard Assessment, Powered Industrial Truck training and certification
REQUIREMENTS:
- 15 years of related experience in fleet management, operations, general management
- Minimum of 10 years diesel tech experience
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSR regulations
- Effectively manage 25+ employees in multiple locations
- Must have strong leadership skills with a high level of communication skills in all forms (in person, email, text, etc)
- Must be detail-oriented; understand workflows; be highly organized; able to multitask and work well under pressure
- Knowledge of Maintenance TMS software
- Financial and budgeting skills
- Available to travel to Maintenance locations as necessary

Salary: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
