As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be a vital member of our healthcare team, providing essential medical administrative support, patient care, and basic life support. Your core skills in medical terminology, patient service, and physiology knowledge will be crucial in delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative and clinical tasks to support healthcare professionals
- Answers telephone and triages all incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls in a professional and respectful manner.
- Prepare patients for examinations and maintains a smooth flow of patients into exam rooms as a top priority
- Obtains accurate patient vital signs and record medical history
- Administer medications and injections/immunizations as directed by healthcare providers
- Cooperatively assists medical providers with procedures (as trained by provider).
- Assist with patient education and provide information on medications and treatment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
General Duties:
- Maintains confidentiality of all health center related information within the bounds of patient and professional confidentiality.
- Consistently demonstrates job knowledge and skills to perform all job responsibilities effectively and professionally.
- Identifies problems, makes recommendations and assists in developing solutions to resolve concerns with co-workers and supervisor professionally and constructively.
- Strives to improve operations, co-worker and teamwork within the department and with all other departments, Board and administration of the health center.
Experience:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
- Experience working in a medical office or clinic setting preferred
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
