CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER
Our $200 million company, Dawson Construction LLC, has an immediate opening for a Waste Water Project Engineer. This position is based in Bellingham, WA, which has been recognized as a top ten community in the nation. Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with bidding, material take-offs, and soliciting quotes from subcontractors/suppliers.
- Secondary point of contact with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers; composes and prepares correspondence.
- Provide technical support to the Estimator Manager and Superintendent.
- Produces and tracks contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Assist with subcontractor and vendor buyout, preparation and tracking of contracts, and procurement of submittals and materials.
- Work with the estimator manager and superintendent to develop, update, and distribute the project schedule.
- Maintains and distributes current project plans and specifications.
- Assists with permitting issues, as necessary.
- Assist with day to day coordination of subcontractors and material deliveries.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with the contract documents and processes within the time frames needed by the project schedule.
- Administer the RFI process.
- Assist with the administration of the Safety and Quality Control programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or similar required
- Previous construction industry experience required
- Knowledge of the construction industry, specifically commercial and industrial general contracting with higher focus on wastewater/water treatment required.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, both in-person and virtually
- Possess a thorough understanding of the drawings, specifications and each subcontractor and supplier’s scope of work.In-depth knowledge of the construction industry
- Able to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines on multiple projects
- Organized and exhibit a high attention to detail
- Able to work collaboratively with multiple team members including clients, designers. partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word).
- Skilled working in scheduling (Phoenix) and PDF mark-up (BlueBeam) software.
- Fluency in Spanish is a bonus
- Must be willing to relocate to Bellingham, WA or Juneau, AK.
