What You'll Be Doing:
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in the ongoing development of an efficient financial accounting control environment. You will assist in maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Your responsibilities also include overseeing the accounting team to meet internal deadlines with precision, all while keeping our members at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support daily accounting activities for timely and accurate financial reporting.
· Assist in the month-end closing process, reconciliations, and relevant postings.
· Ensure efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable activity.
· Collaborate on operating budgets, forecasts, liquidity needs, and balance sheet strategies.
· Review and approve general ledger transactions and activity.
· Lead the preparation of the 5300 call report.
· Identify areas for operational improvements and strengthen internal controls.
· Foster an employee-oriented team culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, and member service.
· Support corporate and departmental projects, ensuring accounting team involvement.
· Provide backup support for various team functions.
· Maintain knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and ensure team compliance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of experience and training.
· At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
· Professional, well-developed communication skills.
· Well-organized, detail-oriented self-starter, able to work independently.

· Broad knowledge of credit unions or financial institution operations and applicable laws.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities efficiently.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of management, staff, and members.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, with proficiency in Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $77,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
