Location: Colorado Based – This is a remote work position, working from home. Clients throughout the United States. Large group of clients in Colorado. We like to see our clients in person when possible. We lead, solve problems, and provide first class service.

Summary: Accountant is responsible for client accounting, analysis, government compliance, and financial systems. Position is a remote work position, working from home. All computer and other equipment provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
❑ Proactive service and work effort are critical for this unique role with a great team of professionals.
❑ Primary focus is on client service and delivering excellent communication to clients both orally and written, as their trusted business partner.
❑ Oversee project and accounting tasks within QuickBooks Online. Accountant is expected to be one of the firms QuickBooks Online expert and advisor for clients and internal team members. Maintain QuickBooks annual certification.
❑ Support members of the Jim Gilbert, CPA team with firm-wide duties and team members needs.
❑ Train clients and staff on QuickBooks functionality and business practices. Resolve client issues to include coordinating with QuickBooks support team.
❑ Coordinate month end close task to include: Balance sheet reconciliations, job cost review, journal entries, revenue recognition, internal control review, and distribution of financial reports to client management.
❑ Responsible for reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices. Must follow chart of accounts and government compliance guidance. Task includes matching agreements, contracts, and client procedures.
❑ Support project and budget setup in QuickBooks Online to adhere with client contract performance and billing requirements. Coordinate with client operations team members on set up and monitoring of project performance.
❑ Responsible for reviewing timesheet information and expense reports. Both employee documents should be correct, timely, and follow company and government compliance guidance.
❑ Participates in job cost analysis and cost variance analysis. Identifies discrepancies and unusual postings for review with management. Implements corrective actions within QuickBooks Online.
❑ Oversees billing process including adherence to client billing requirements, preparation of monthly billing information, invoice review with project managers, and final submission to client for acceptance.
❑ Records, or directs recording of, new or changed client contract rates/change orders in QuickBooks Online.
❑ Manages payroll processes. Works directly with client payroll provider on set up, administration, and processing of payroll for employees. Maintains federal and state compliance and records journal entry of expense and deductions.
❑ Maintains federal, state and local tax compliance to include: Payroll, sales, use, business personal property, and federal/state tax return information.
❑ Prepares compliance and audit reports. Monitors governmental compliance and provides training and guidance to management and operational staff.
❑ Maintains system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
❑ Coordinates preparation of external audit materials, tax return information, and external financial requirements.
❑ Follows company policies and government regulations affecting internal accounting procedures.
❑ Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and improve internal control.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors’ degree (B. A.) in Accounting/Finance or and three years accounting professional services experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to manage company books with full life cycle accounting. Knowledge of Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Reconciliations and Subsidiaries is required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Online Document Storage, and QuickBooks Online.
