Job Title – Quality Assurance Lead

POSITION SUMMARY
Quality is an integral part of Le Belge Chocolatier’s mission. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for safeguarding all product quality and safety while ensuring adherence to Company and regulatory standards. The QA Lead ensures that the production and distribution of products always meets or exceeds all quality standards and that all Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are consistently followed.
Essential Functions:
1. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
2. Actively participate in 3rd party, customer and regulatory audits.
3. Collects, collates production/quality control forms, and interprets data and information to determine quality and reliability standards.
4. Selects products/areas for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities, such as dimensions, weights, sensory attributes, environmental swab test, raw materials and finished goods microbiological analysis, and process controls.
5. Records test data, information, process deviations and any observations inside the plant.
6. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
7. Perform daily CCP verification, allergen and ATP swabs as needed, production and package data review, code check, batch sheet review and efficiency review.
8. Inspects incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, finished product and compares against the standards.
9. Coordinates with QA Manager in preparing graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
10. Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices, Personal Hygiene, HACCP, Allergen/Non-Allergen Implementation,
Food Safety and Security inside and outside the Plant.
11. Assists in Training on GMP, Personal Hygiene, HACCP, Food Safety and Security.
12. Ensures Food Safety and Security, GMPS’s, Personal Hygiene, HACCP certification at the plant through internal plant audits and walk through.
13. Coordinates and prepares report with QA Manager in recording test data, information, process deviations and any observations inside the plant.
14. Assists with customer's complaints, customer inquiries, and issues.
15. Ensures and coordinates with other departments on First In, First Out of all finished goods in the cooler, raw material ingredients, and components inside the warehouse by performing daily and weekly inspection.
16. Assists in conducting evaluation of all Le Belge food products.
17. Creates in developing and implementing new policies and procedures through encoding all information in the computer
18. Supports the Quality Department by ensuring SQF Fundamentals are understood and communicated to plant personnel.
19. Performs other related tasks that are assigned at the discretion of the Quality Manager

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Food manufacturing or handling experience strongly preferred, manufacturing experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an indoors, climate controlled factory setting, during both day and night shifts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate in some situations but does require hearing protection when working on specific tasks.
