Position Summary
Definition of enterprise data management architecture, models, standards, technologies and guidelines, and aligning it with the enterprise and function specific digital and technology plans with specific focus on data cloud architecture. Also responsible for data access management, transport, and storage of data in a manner that meets the requirements of the organization’s data governance policy.
General Responsibilities:
- Work with Business Analyst and Information Analyst to review business drivers, needs and strategies and assess the implications to the information/data architecture.
- Provide input to Information Analyst to diagram the complete flow of data from source to target (extraction, transformation, load).
- Identify and document data transformation strategies.
- Define data requirements and participate in design reviews.
- Prepare information architecture deliverables in accordance with enterprise, value chain or functional standards and methodologies, and consistent with the target business architecture.
- Work with Database Designers to develop the logical data model and ensure efficient flows of information through business processes.
- Provide inputs to teams to develop applications that addresses the exchange of data between heterogeneous systems.
- Proactively provide thought leadership and knowledge sharing on Information Architecture, Standards, Best Practices.
- Implements the user access policies specified by data owners, in-line with data governance rules.
- Utilize data catalog system to ensure data is managed and governed in a systematic manner.
- Ensures that data quality is sustained during technical processing of data such as data ingestion, data transformation, masking.
- Ensures that data consumers understand the data they have access to including data transformation business rules and data relationships.
- Deep knowledge and experience in Information Management and Architecture Design - ability to use appropriate tools and logical models to develop the architecture meeting specific business needs.
Data and Analytics
The Specialist, Information Architect needs to have a broad understanding of the full range of data management and analytics capabilities, and the ability to communicate these concepts, methods and techniques in ways easily understood by other stakeholders:
- Data literacy: For example, the ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT and quant stakeholders.
- Analytics and business intelligence: For example diagnostic, descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics approaches.
- Data management: For example, data integration (ETL) or metadata.
- Information/data architectures: the differences between data fabric, data mesh, data warehouse, data lake or data hub. Identify and manage the most important business information assets across the organization.
- Data structures: For example structured, semistructured and unstructured data.
- Data and analytics governance: For example MDM, data quality and data stewardship practices. This extends into widening connected governance, which touches on data security, privacy access, and other compliance and regulatory governance practices.
- Security & Risk Management: Understand IT provisioning & data consumption risks and develop/implement controls manage/mitigate/control risks in operating environment. Knowledgeable in Privacy/Regulatory controls
- Technical Skills: Azure, Power BI, Database architecture, SQL, Python, etc

Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience.
- Demonstrated experience in Enterprise Data Management.
- Degree in related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as: Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), FDA and EMEA regulations, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies like Azure, data analytics tools like Power BI are preferred.
- Up-to-date knowledge of methodologies and trends in both business and IT.
- Ability to travel (Domestic/Global) 30-40% and work in a 24/7 environment across multiple time zones.
- Strong business orientation with broad experience in this or relevant industries.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with excellent written and verbal communications skills. Superb leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to function in a collaborative way and build trust.
- A superior customer orientation, including an understanding of the advantages of partnering and alliance building (internal and external to the enterprise).
Education:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience
- Bachelors Degree in any field or equivalent experience

Pay: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $100,000 - $155,000 + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
