Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Mechanic at Wellmatics, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation of equipment by troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, reconditioning, and servicing various systems and components. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining equipment functionality and compliance with all relevant regulations contributing to the success of our operations.

Essential Functions:

1. Troubleshooting and Diagnosis: Utilize your mechanical expertise to diagnose problems with equipment, identifying issues and determining appropriate solutions.

2. Repair and Maintenance: Perform necessary repairs, reconditioning and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

3. Equipment Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical equipment, checking for trouble and adjusting functional parts as needed to resolve issues.

4. Cleaning and Lubrication: Clean, lubricate and adjust equipment parts and machinery to maintain efficiency and prevent breakdowns.

5. Roadside Repairs: Conduct necessary repairs to ensure the quick recovery and return to service of equipment.

6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and adhere to operational policies and standards.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ experience as mechanic.
Experience with wireline equipment a plus.
Proficiency in using hand tools and knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics and component rebuilding and wiring. Must have own tools.
Experience with diesel engines and expertise in using Diesel Diagnostic Software (Cummins Insight, TEXA).
Hold an existing Certification for Air Brakes or the ability to obtain certification.
Must be a self-starter with little to no supervision.
Willingness to be on call 24 hours for equipment issues in the field. Customer needs may require working outside extended hours and days, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends. (Schedule typically 8:00 – 5:00, Monday – Friday)
Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as background check and Worksteps Functional Capacity Testing.
Must be able to pass ATF background check.
Must live within one hour of Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:

Perform diagnosis and solutions for problems on various types of oil field service equipment.
Check mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble, adjusting functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary or determine other actionable steps to resolve issues.
Perform required repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment to maintain functionality.
Travel to the field as necessary to conduct repair work.
Compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Skills:

Ability to regularly lift and carry 10-75 lbs. may be necessary when performing repairs to equipment both in the yard and in the field.
Ability to enter tight spaces or other areas using ladders or other access devices.
Ability to stand, squat, kneel and reach for extended periods of time.
Proficient in performing duties with protective equipment including an H2S respirator when needed.

Education:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
