We are looking for a Medical/Patient Transporter (fluent in Haitian Creole) who play a crucial role in the health & well-being of our unaccompanied children who are trying to establish a new home in the U.S.
Our Medical Transporters provide safe and reliable transportation and supervision to appointments in the community, as well as provide daily support in the medical office. Success in this role includes flexibility and the understanding that day-to-day activities may change, and this individual must be open and available to assist in any way needed to support the children in the program.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm
FUNCTIONS:
· Escort and monitor youth during external appointments, which usually requires acting as a medical translator
· Provide supervision to youth while transporting to both internal and external appointments
· Assist with scanning and uploading of documents
· Respectfully communicate with children, foster parents, and colleagues
· Assist other departments during case emergencies
· Must handle confidential material in a responsible manner
REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma/GED required
· Valid NYS Driver’s License required; Safe and dependable vehicle preferred
· Bilingual - English-Haitian Creole required
· Experience working in a busy human services office - strongly preferred
· Experience working with at-risk youth – strongly preferred
· Strong communication and organizational skills – required
· Ability to work effectively in a team context
· Demonstrated ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and to exercise greater judgment
· Ability to travel to other agency locations as required. Willingness and ability to drive a car or van within the 5 boroughs of New York City and across the nation

Pay: $20.00 per hour
