Position Summary:
- The LEAD QUALITY TECHNICIAN will perform inspections and interface with the operations department to optimize the quality of our products.
- The incumbent is also responsible for training new quality control technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Lead Quality Technician is responsible for the assurance of component and finished goods’ compliance to ensure product quality.
- This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and indirectly to the Production Supervisor.
- Master and perform correct measurement techniques
- Initiate and communicate reactions to out of spec conditions
- Interpret inspection results and product output to ensure no nonconformances are release
- Provide operations with information and services as requested for problem solving
- Cooperate and communicate with entire quality team to ensure seamless and consistent decision-making and support to operations; actively participate in daily shift handoff
- Communicate and train line personnel and operations personnel on product requirements
- Ensure all documents and records are compliant with customer & regulatory requirements and complete with approvals (or deviations/reactions/communications as necessary).
- Quarantine any nonconforming/suspect material and make disposition (with help from management when necessary).
- Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong verbal communication skills as demonstrated in the context of the interviewing processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated in the context of the interviewing processes and verifiable references.
- 2 years’ experience required
- Experience in inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with micrometers, calipers, MagnaMike and other instrumentation is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and consistent follow-through to persevere through change resistance.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
