Position Summary:
The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in our organization, focusing on developing and instituting new processes and standards for managing IT projects. This position aligns with industry best practices and sets an organization-wide precedent for increased documentation, technology utilization, and transparency in project management. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Senior Project Manager will drive excellence in project execution and contribute to the overall success of our IT initiatives. This Senior Project Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of IT project management within our school district.
Essential Functions:

Strategic Project Management:

Lead and manage IT projects from inception to successful completion.

Collaborate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and other participants.

Plan, organize, communicate, and manage resources, budgets, timelines, and risks.

Understand the purpose and intent of district initiatives and leverage this knowledge to maximize outcomes and optimize efficiency.
Process Development and Implementation:-
Develop and institute new project management processes and standards.

Ensure alignment with industry best practices.

Set a precedent for increased documentation and transparency in project work.
Leadership and Professionalization:-
Be an organizational leader in professionalizing project management culture and practices.

Collaborate with IT staff and other departments to enhance project management capabilities.

Promote continuous improvement and innovation.
Expertise in Project Management Tools:-
Develop deep expertise in project management software, including Microsoft Planner and Airtable.

Utilize these tools effectively to streamline project workflows.
Maintaining PM Dashboards:-
Create and maintain project management dashboards to track progress, milestones, and key performance indicators.

Use data visualization tools to present project status and trends.
Leveraging Internal Technologies:-
Utilize Office 365 and Microsoft Teams to drive workflows and communication.

Foster collaboration among project teams, ensuring seamless communication and knowledge sharing.
Tracking and Reporting:-
Maintain up-to-date tracking on IT projects and superintendent initiatives.

Provide regular status updates and reports to relevant stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Planner, Airtable).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.

Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Experience:

Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse staff required

Ability to be a multi-tasker and to handle stress by balancing multiple projects

Ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment preferred
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Relevant certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).

Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in an IT role.

Strong understanding of IT planning, management, and evaluation.
Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle

Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
