Position Summary:
Technical Specialist for assembly areas in the General Assembly Department of an automotive manufacturing environment. Job requirements include analysis and improvement of current production processes and coordination of vehicle launches. Maintenance experience preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as technical expert of assigned area during vehicle launches
- Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases.
- Analyze and continuously improve performance of assigned area (safety, quality, production, cost, and human factors).
- Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other problem solving teams, as directed by Senior Management.
- Serve as technical expert for Team Members, Team Leaders, including technical training, as required.
- Support daily production issues as required.
- Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and propose new technology projects as appropriate.
- Prepare presentations/reports on current projects, progress, and issues to management.
- Understand and control labor allocation.
- Meet all other requirements as assigned
- Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent or equivalent desired
Experience:
- 2 – 10 years job related experience in a maintenance engineering/industrial environment preferred
- Experience in automotive machining processes, tooling capability, and dimensional quality systems desired
