Wells Brothers Inc. is currently hiring an experienced Mechanical/Millwright Field Technician to join our growing team. To be successful in this role, you need to be self-motivated, team orientated, punctual, have a high level of integrity, and have the ability and willingness to teach and learn.
Essential Duties
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain a low Safety Incident Occurrence History
- Assist in aligning, leveling and anchoring equipment
- Layout center, parallel and perpendicular lines for installation guides
- Use laser leveling and alignment equipment
- Perform geometric calculations as the apply to the job
- Properly align and tension drive belts and chains
- Install shafts and bearings
- Assemble and Install conveying systems of all types
- Perform weight calculations and estimates
- Calculate the effect of sling angle on load capacity
- Read prints, diagrams, and manuals
- Troubleshoot and correct difficult mechanical problems
- Safely operate small deck cranes
- Repair and rebuild gear boxes, complex mechanical systems, hydraulic pumps and cylinders, and pneumatic system components
- Perform equipment and line layouts
Experience and Requirements
- Understand hand signals
- 3 years of experience
- Possess a through understanding of industrial trades
- Understand and ability to interpret fork truck load tables
- Ability to estimate center of gravity
- Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs on occasion, stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach and sit for long periods of time
- Must not be afraid of heights or confined spaces
- Have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to adapt to changing schedule and easily and positively adjust to changing priorities and department processes.
- Ability to simultaneously handle the demands of internal and external customers
- Knowledge/Experience of other skilled trades (Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Welding) Preferred
