Qualifications:
One-year experience as an RN required, two years preferred. Circulator and/or surgical scrub experience preferred. Must be willing to work in all perioperative areas (Pre/Post-Op, Endo, OR, PACU, SPD); assignment and hours will vary depending on the surgery and procedure schedule. Must be able to work in high stress, fast-paced areas. Must obtain ACLS and PALS by completion of orientation or next available class. Must be willing to flex hours and take call for after-hours surgeries and/or procedures. Must have excellent organizational and communications skills in order to provide a variety of services in the perioperative areas.
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess the necessary skills to excel in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Assist the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration
- Collaborate with surgeons to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions
- Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care
Skills:
- Proficiency in senior care and memory care practices
- Experience in discharge planning for surgical patients
- Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures and protocols
- Strong understanding of physiology and its application in patient care
- Ability to perform IV insertions with precision and confidence
- Previous exposure to ICU settings and ventilator management
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques following established standards
