Prep Cook
Position Summary:
The Carnation Farms Culinary Team is looking to advance our production and event capacity as we continue to grow our culinary operations! We are seeking a talented and motivated individual who has a passion for cooking and a desire to always think bigger. The ideal candidate is an organizational rock star with an eye for the details. Someone who strives for excellence and lifting others up will do well in this role. As the Prep Cook, you will be play a critical in our kitchen operations, focusing on food preparation, setup, and ensuring smooth delivery of products and dishes.
This position is expected to be 32-40 hours per week, dependent on business needs. Typically Monday thru Friday, with some weekend and evening availability for special events. Previous kitchen experience is required.

Essential Functions:
- Daily preparation of foods for Farm Stand products and Events
- Assisting with food prep, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, following recipes, and collaborating with the culinary team to deliver exceptional dishes and products
- Work under the guidance of our of our amazing Chefs to ensure the quality and presentation of our culinary products meet the highest standards
- Everyone in the kitchen contributes to daily cleaning and facilities inspection, including:
- Participate in running industrial dish washing machine
- Sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of all surfaces
- Inspects facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and to determine maintenance and repair requirements
- Helps maintain inventory and quality in pantry, cold storage, and freezer
Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a positive, reliable, responsible, and hardworking individual who has a strong desire to work with food on an organic farm.
- A minimum of 1-2 years related experience, preferably in commercial kitchens
- Must have basic knife skills, knowledge of food prep, and use of kitchen equipment
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be available to work some weekends and evening events as needed
- Must have a great attitude, and be a motivated team player who can work efficiently in high volume situations
- Must have a high level of organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as a passion for working with food
- Must be comfortable working with hot surfaces and sharp equipment
- Interest and enthusiasm for regenerative farm-to-table experiences
- Proven interpersonal skills with the strong ability to work within a team
- Must have a valid food handlers certification card

Compensation and Benefits:
- From $20/hour
