This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Multifab Customers:
- Review the information from dwgs or samples supplied by the customer & inside Sales to decide if the part or project is something to be quoted for Multifab.
- Determine what manufacturing processes and times apply for fabrication.
- Material type and utilization
- Turret and/or laser mfg. times
- Brake press mfg. times.
- Required hardware insertion.
- Welding mfg. times
- Bought out parts, if required
- Create Engineering Tracking folder to consolidate and maintain all the other required information for the project.
- Folder contains dwgs, matl, & purchase parts quotes, and all customer and sales correspondence for the project.
- Outsource and quote any new purchased parts or manufacturing process, machining, stamping, plating/finishing, etc.
- Enter information into quote module to determine costs.
- Create quote with selling price and send to inside sales for distribution.
2. Multilink Customers:
- Receive requests to update pricing of existing product.
- Roll up costs with predetermined margins & enter new costs for sales.
- Receive request to quote new product or modify existing produ
- Create Engineering Tracking Folder to consolidate and maintain all the required information for the project.
- Folder contains dwgs, matl & purchase parts quotes, and all other customer and sales correspondence pertaining to the project.
- Review concept dwg, if created, or existing product dwgs and discuss details with the engineer to determine any required changes & manufacturing process.
- Outsource and quote any new purchased parts or manufacturing process, machining, stamping, plating/finishing, etc.
- Enter project info/BOM info into the quote module with the required margins to determine costs & pricing.
- Create quote with selling price and send to inside sales for distribution.
3. Costing Inquiries:
- Receive inquiry to determine why the system cost is too high/low.
- Evaluate and determine if the BOM is correct.
- Explain current costing or make required changes to BOM and update the cost.
- Provide cost breakdown by material and operation, if required.
4. Sales Inquiries:
- Field calls from Sales Dept and Sales Reps.
- Help determine if proposed product can be manufactured.
- Help determine lock options.
- Try to find solutions to field problems or take info to discuss with Engineering.
- Provide quick pricing information for Customer additions or subtractions if possible.
5. Back up Engineering Assistant:
- Perform minimal work to assist with the loading of information into the MRP system.
- Field internal MRP questions
- Field BOM questions.
- Field Purchasing questions.
6. Misc Job Duties:
- Update the Tracking Log as required.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Product Managers, &
- Production to cost reduce existing product and improve manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate manufacturing time study cost analysis projects.
- Hire, train, and manage assistant quoting team member.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient computer skills including office suite.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Perform job in a timely manner.
- Ability to problem solve and think out of the box for solutions.
- Understand manufacturing operations and relate this information to products.
- Competent mathematical skills
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting performing computer work.
- Ability to go up and down stairs multiple times a day.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in related preferred but not required.
- Background in manufacturing.
- Experienced with operating computers and adapting to new software.
- Practiced in reading and interpreting blueprints, tape measures and calipers.
- Able to communicate and work well with multiple departments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
