Director of People & Culture
Description
We are looking for a Director of People & Culture for a luxury property in The Collective, New York. The 107-room hotel is located in the iconic Hamptons and sits on 35 acres of land with waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a luxury hospitality environment. As the Director of People & Culture, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our hotel's human resources function. You will recruit, retain and develop our talented colleagues while ensuring that they are aligned with the company's values and committed to delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate interviews and selection
- Oversee the onboarding of new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization
Employee Relations
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
- Address employee concerns and mediate conflicts when necessary
Performance Management
- Develop and implement performance appraisal systems
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees to enhance their performance and career growth
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs for staff
- Support employee development initiatives to promote career progression
Compensation & Benefits
- Manage the hotel's compensation and benefits programs
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
Policy Implementation
- Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Keep policies up-to-date with changing laws and industry standards
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations
- Prepare and submit reports related to HR metrics
Safety & Health
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) is a plus
