JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Dining Room Manager of Atwater’s is responsible for the operation of the front of house restaurant and bar. Duties include, ensuring workers adhere to operational service standards, standard operating procedures, and checklists. Implement training and recruitment processes, addressing customer concerns, achieving customer satisfaction, and overseeing the restaurant's payroll, inventory, and budget. The Dining Room Manager will compile daily reports, greet customers, introduce menus, and ensure the dining area is always kept and maintained in a clean and safe environment. They also assist in all areas of the restaurants operational positions creating a team-oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Manage and review all dining reservations, via phone, email, and Open Table.
-Review all pertinent notes for special requests, special occasions, or allergies and communicates to managers, servers and kitchen staff to ensure a personalized dining experience.
-Greets guests warmly and welcomes them into the dining room.
-Maintains constant contact with guests, management, restaurant, and kitchen staff, to ensure that guests’ concerns are addressed and handled properly.
-Maintains complete knowledge of the restaurant food & wine menus, general hotel information, and hours of operations.
-Responds to all guest inquiries by phone or email.
- Responsible for the dining room schedule and vacation requests.
-Responsible for interviewing and recruiting staff
-Responsible for scheduling, monitoring, and submitting payroll
-Responsible for purchasing and maintaining the appropriate inventory of all front of house operational items.
-Create and foster a positive work environment where all employees are treated fairly and held accountable to The Herrington Inn and Spa’s standards and procedures.
-Manages cleanliness of dining room, hostess station, lounge, and bar to ensure all work areas are orderly.
-Ensures all menus are up-to-date and in perfect condition.
- Adheres to AAA standards and hotel policies and code of conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Minimum of one year of experience in upscale restaurant or relevant qualifications in the hospitality industry.
-Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
-Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills.
-Superior attention to detail and ability to be organized.
- An extrovert, who enjoys engaging with people and has the ability to empathize with guests.
-Keen judgment and decision making.
-Flexibility and able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
