- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
- Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
- Greets everyone who comes to Lastique.
- Does whatever is needed to be a Lastique team player.
Shipping/Receiving Clerk Duties:
· Scale operations – weighting inbound and outbound trucks
· Inbound and outbound freight paperwork
· Communicate to warehouse when trucks are docked.
· Fill out load sheets
· Organize and distribute paperwork under instruction of logistics and warehouse manager.
· Keep in and outbound logs of material receipts and shipments.
· Filing and scheduling for multiple departments
· Contact warehouse manager or logistics manager for direction on unscheduled loads.
· Schedules shipments as directed by Logistics Manager.
Other duties as assigned. All tasks assigned are expected to be completed within a timely manner.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Inserts items into containers.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Routes items to departments.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Helps maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.
Other Duties:
· Answer and direct calls to proper contact person on several lines.
· Take messages and send to voicemail as needed
· Check-in visitors and direct to appropriate person or department.
· Mailing and small package pickups
· Maintain incoming visitor logs, including, interviewees, meetings, repairmen, etcetera
· Always dressed conservatively and professionally
· Filing and scheduling for multiple departments.
