Science from Scientists Senior HR/Generalist Manager
An approachable and supportive Senior HR Manager proactively identifies HR priorities that align with company strategy to further business performance. This person provides active guidance and partnership with managers and employees across the organization. The Senior HR Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the HR department that include, but are not limited to recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefit administration, compliance, and performance management. This person will understand key people issues in business teams, make recommendations, and represent their needs.
Responsibilities
- Act as first line of support for all inquiries from employees regarding policies, procedures, benefits, or other general questions.
- Maintain confidentiality of department and employee information according to established practices
- Oversee and carry out full lifecycle recruiting, hiring and retention of staff & contract employees. Including but not limited to gaining approvals, posting to job boards, interviewing, preparing offers and ensuring hiring goals are met.
- Facilitate and schedule new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver a successful onboarding experience.
- Oversee separation of staff by completing exit interviews and processing of terminated employees
- Ownership of the HRM system, including maintaining employee personnel files, reporting requirements, payroll & taxes, benefits and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
- Process employee short-term disability and FMLA requests in compliance with all laws.
- Ensure legal compliance of state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
- Ensure the upkeep, communication, and interpretation of employee handbook and organizational chart.
- Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization.
- Manage payroll including but not limited to approving hours and pay run system accuracy.
- Maintain relationships and programs with human resource associated vendors.
- Maintain and further develop the employee benefits program; coordinate open enrollment, assist employees with qualifying events, process benefit claims, conduct an annual review of benefits offered.
- Design and oversee the annual review process including timing and tracking; provide performance management guidance to managers.
- Participate with Leadership in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics and standard reports for ongoing company requirements, as well as maintaining SOPs.
- Assist with employee development training programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in an HR role preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations such as EEO, FMLA, FLSA, as well as others.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Drive and HRIS systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with employment records.
- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- Able to work independently as well as collaborate with employees at all levels in many different teams.
- Explores creative alternatives to current HR practices to help build programs and processes that allow the company to scale.

Hybrid work schedule: 2-3 days per week in the office, remaining days can be in the office or work from home.
Salary: $70,000 – 90,000
