POSITION: Project Superintendent
FUNCTION: To deliver the project to the owner on time, within budget, with a high degree of quality and professionalism and to enforce all company policies and rules at the jobsite.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Level of Education:
Preferred: Bachelors degree (Construction, Engineering or a related field)
Minimum: High School Diploma plus credits toward a specific College degree
Work Experience: Experience as Superintendent or Foreman with control of commercial, industrial or institutional construction projects of size similar to present S.C. Anderson, Inc. work. Production management experience desirable.
Specialized Skills: Able to read, comprehend and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and applicable codes, and posses the ability to enforce their intent. Verbal and written communication skills that effectively represent S.C. Anderson, Inc. in a professional manner. Comprehensive knowledge in all types of construction to allow for managing projects on which many activities occur simultaneously. Ability to operate work processing, spreadsheet and scheduling software on a personal computer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
(1) Ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the entire construction project.
(2) Must a have a thorough knowledge of project plans and specifications to assure timely completion of the project while attaining a quality of work consistent with the contract documents and company policy.
(3) Apprise all new jobsite personnel of Company policies, safety practices and requirements, working hours, Contraband Control Program, etc. Monitor jobsite personnel’s adherence to established policies, practices and procedures.
(4) Responsible for coordination of subcontractors, material suppliers, inspectors, testing labs and others to fulfill the requirements of the schedule. Prepare project CPM schedule and monitor scheduled progress versus actual performance. Develop long-range operating plans to supplement the CPM schedule.
(5) Responsible for drafting of all subcontract agreements and the processing of all cost proposal, requests for time extension, change orders, back charges, work orders, internal contract adjustments and subcontract adjustments.
(6) Maintain an awareness of subcontractors and/or suppliers ability to perform and meet contract requirements. Take corrective action when needed.
(7) Adequately staff all trades under his S.C. Anderson, Inc. direct employ. Supervise foremen and assist them in their development of short-range operational plans.
(8) Evaluate effectiveness of each operation for quality and productivity. Initiate positive action to correct substandard quality and/or productivity.
(9) Responsible for continuous safe working conditions. Conducts weekly safety meetings and all necessary inspections. Assures that all applicable safety codes and requirements are adhered to constantly and consistently. Assures various insurance forms are completed when necessary.
(10) Responsible for timely submittal of various reports as required and/or requested from the main office.
(11) Responsible to maintain an adequate level of jobsite security.
(12) Makes miscellaneous purchases on behalf of the Company for variable and fixed costs as provided in the project budget. Make purchases and monitor costs to ensure expenditures will not exceed project budget. Responsible for receipt, handling and placement of all material to fulfill the requirements of the construction contract.
(13) Responsible to properly documenting all aspects of the work on a daily basis. Prepare written correspondence to protect the Company’s interests in both proactive and defensive manners. Write routine correspondence as needed.
(14) Apprise Operations Manager or President of all major problems encountered at the construction site.
(15) Supervise the daily activities of the Project Administrator and perform the functions of the Project Administrator when one is not assigned to the project.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
