Regional Sales Account and Business Development Manager
We are a manufacturer and distributor of major appliances, including vaccine, healthcare and life science refrigeration. Continued company growth has created the need for a Regional Sales Account and Business Development Manager.
Primarily responsible to develop new business and sales opportunities within the Medical, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical and Life Science markets including key account customer sales and selling channels which may include Dealers, Representatives, OEMs, GPOs (Group Purchasing Organizations), IDNs (Integrated Delivery Networks), Medical Centers, Hospitals, Pharmacies, Service Providers, Installers, General Contractors and Designers. Works to develop new accounts and sustain current business relationships.
The individual selected will:
- Perform responsibilities common to sales, marketing and business development. Prospects, recruits, communicates, trains, develops, motivates and supports business partners within approved company and department guidelines for optimum utilization of the life science division's labor, material and equipment.
- Develop detailed business plans for key accounts and sales channel development and support.
- Leverage channel relationships and business experience to grow existing accounts and add new accounts.
- Provide organizational, product and sales training to key accounts, business partners, channel partners, customers.
- Actively participate in the creation of sales and marketing literature, training materials, catalog copy, photography, website, quotation templates, pricelists, cross references, PR, rep mailings and advertising. Develops promotional tools and programs to promote new and existing products.
- Possesses knowledge of all organization, policies, procedures, products, information required for pricing standard and custom products and options, and the ability of computing selling prices from the Price List.
- Communicate all necessary information internally and externally on a variety of subjects including competition, market trends, customer activity, channel partner news, product quality/reliability, products, features, pricing and industry activities.
- Participate in channel partner seminars, training/sales meetings, tradeshows, events and industry activities.
- Assure that Channel Partners and Key Account Customers are knowledgeable about products features, services, product applications, programs, policies and procedures.
- Maintain product specific knowledge and market awareness as required to assist customers and channel partners.
- Recommend pricing approach consistent with sales and profit goals and the competitive circumstances. Responsible for development and distribution of all standard product & accessory pricing.
- Monitor current business conditions and trends. Reports promptly, unusual sales opportunities, marketing trends, competitive practices, and customer requirements. Promptly alerts management of product, service, installation problems, and Key Account Customer, Representative and Dealer changes. Develops forecasts and budgets.
Education and Experience:
- B.A./B.S. in medical, life sciences, business, engineering.
· Five to ten years in selling/support of capital procurement, business development life science, medical, educational, clinical or industrial markets. Sales, Marketing, Product Management experience within in a multi-channel distribution network preferred. Proven written and verbal communications skills essential.

· Technical product knowledge, Medical, life science product applications, selling skills, customer service oriented.
· Computer skills in Microsoft Office products, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
· Comprehensive knowledge of medical, scientific markets and products. Relationship with c-level category managers at medical and scientific distributors with the ability to demonstrate the relationship with the key trading partners.
- Ability to travel including overnight and weekend travel.
- Knowledge of quality management and continuous improvement principles sufficient to understand and address customer quality management needs.
- Skill in developing, planning and executing sales and marketing strategies and tactics.
- Skill in directing and managing the work of others.
- Skill in preparing written documents such as reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Skill in framing, analyzing and solving problems.
- Skill in reading, analyzing and interpreting business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or government regulations that pertain to the work.
- Ability to effectively negotiate and close business.
- Ability to project confidence and professionalism in selling to sophisticated, senior level buyers.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply technical knowledge related to company and competitor offerings.
- Ability to empathize with and understand customer needs and perspectives.
- Ability to develop and manage key account relationships at all necessary levels within an organization.
Compensation is expected to be in the range of $90,000 to $120,000 annually, with a meaningful bonus opportunity for success.
