Milescraft, the disruptive force in DIY woodworking products, needs a Chief Operating Officer who is not satisfied with status-quo and wants to control all things in operations. This role reports directly to the owner and will be responsible for driving innovation in the organization. Milescraft is privately held and continues to outpace industry standards in both revenue and EBITDA in the DIY woodworking tool category. This COO position is available due to our growth and need to manage a global supply and manufacturing process. Our products are available on-line, in leading big box retailers and specialty stores. Milescraft is quietly becoming an innovative force displacing competition in the markets we serve.
MINIMUM JOB EXPECTATIONS
This role involves complete control in Operations:
· Domestic and overseas vendor relationship management. Work with engineering to set up new factories in East Asia.
· Responsible for production schedules, procurement, inventory management and optimization, logistics, product quality, scrap and rework.
· Work with sales and marketing teams to ensure that supply and inventory support growth objectives as well as promotions.
· Work with suppliers to reduce lead times, improve quality, and negotiate cost efficiencies.
· Manage and modernize current facility in Rockford, IL., and establish and manage distribution facility in Europe when necessary.
· On-site QC inspection / quality control in Rockford and at factories.
· Work will be performed in Rockford (2-3 days) and Elgin (2-3 days). Travel 10-20% (Europe and/or China).
THE MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Business education – We need at least a BS degree
Solid, progressive, competitive manufacturing knowledge – We need business experience
Mentor, Development, and Delegation practice – We need a person to work on the business, not in the business.
