SALARY & BENEFIT INFORMATION
$30.8925 per hour

Bilingual pay ($100 per month) Pro rata 20 hours is 50%; 30 hours is 75%; 32 hours is 80%.

Vacation credits on a pro-rata: 20 hours is 50%; 30 hours is 75%; 32 hours is 80% basis with carryover privileges not to exceed three times their allotment.

Holidays on a pro-rata basis if they are employed 20 hours per week or more, 20 hours is 50%; 30 hours is 75%; 32 hours is 80%.

THE POSITION
(20 HOURS PER WEEK)
Under the general supervision, this position is responsible for IT Systems hardware and software deployment, maintenance, technical support, and other related functions as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Equivalent to the completion of two years of college with course work in, computer information systems, computer science, or related field. Bachelor’s degree desirable.
Experience: Two years of progressively responsible information technology related experience to include experience supporting emergency communications systems and providing audio visual related support for an organization.
Certification/License and/or Other Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Must successfully pass a background investigation to acceptable standards required for working on public safety related systems and equipment.
COMPTIA, Cisco, VMware, or Microsoft IT related certifications (not required, but a plus) - Years of experience can substitute with IT related training.
CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS
1. Application Review: A completed City of Cathedral City employment application and resume is required. Incomplete applications may result in disqualification. Application review will begin immediately and will be screened on basis of relevant education, training and experience.
2. Examination Phase: Based upon the information presented on the application, a limited number of candidates who possess qualifications most pertinent to the position will be invited to participate in the selection process. The selection process may include but is not limited to the following components: application review and evaluation, written examination or exercise, practice exercise and interview evaluation.
3. Establishment of Eligibility List: Candidates who successfully complete the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list pending further review by the department head and other qualifying procedures.

RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
