**Job Overview**
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Shipping Manager to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, the Shipping Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe receipt, storage, and shipment of materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and materials handling, with a focus on logistics management. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
**Responsibilities**
- Manage and coordinate the receipt and storage of all incoming and outgoing shipments and materials, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored in a safe and organized manner.
- Oversee the unloading and distribution of goods, ensuring that all products are delivered to the correct ship to locations.
- Conduct inventory control of finished goods and monitoring to ensure that stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize warehouse layout and maximize storage capacity.
- Develop and implement efficient shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring that all shipments are processed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Utilize SPS Commerce and customer shipping portals (LowesTMS, HD SupplierHub, etc.) to route shipments and provide tracking information.
- Create shipping documents such as the Bill of Lading, Pallet Labels, Packing Slips, Case Labels, and Shipping Labels (i.e. UPS Ground/FedEx Ground labels).
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse staff on logistics, materials handling, and safety procedures.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
**Experience**
- Proven experience in a warehouse management or logistics role, with a focus on receiving and shipping operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management principles and best practices.
- Experience with cretaing shipment documents such as BOLs, pallet labels, and packing is highly desirable.
- Experience with ground shippers, LTL carriers and 3PL carriers - scheduling pick appointments, tracking shipments, obtaining signed PODs and submitting advance ship notices.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with mechanical equipment is an asset. Prior Forklifting experience is a plus but not necessary.
- Experience with inventory control and monitoring is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in logistics or related field is preferred.
- Hourly Pay will be based on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
