Riverpointe Christian Academy is hiring for Preschool Teachers (Infants-K4) as we continue to grow our early childhood development center. We are looking for someone that is energetic and has a love for children. This is a full time position.
Preschool teachers work with young children to teach basic skills such as colors, letter and number recognition, shapes, social skills and personal hygiene. They develop interactive learning programs that are fun and educational for young children. Preschool Teachers manage classroom activities including lesson plans, imaginative play, bathroom breaks, meals and rest times. They monitor and gently correct children’s behavior in the classroom to foster behavioral and social skills. Preschool teachers also communicate with parents to ensure they are meeting expectations for their children’s educational and developmental needs.
Preschool Teacher Qualifications
- Must have at least a high school diploma (4yr old teachers- Bachelor's degree or Associate degree and willing to work towards Bachelor's degree)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must meet all state preschool teacher requirements
- High level of flexibility and willingness to work within business hours
- Previous experience as a preschool teacher or in a licensed daycare required
- Ability to develop activities that are fun and educational for young children
- Ability to instruct young children in rules of conduct and learning new tasks
- Ability to select the appropriate teaching method and adapt to children's learning styles
- Ability to effectively communicate with children and parents
- Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to the various needs of children and parents
- Patience and compassion suitable for working with young children
- Experience with Creative Curriculum is a plus
Preschool Teacher Job Responsibilities
* including but not limited to:
- Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms
- Provide basic needs for children
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
- Document and share with parents the important milestones in a child’s day
- Collaborate with other passionate preschool teachers and leaders to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Respect and observe children's interests. Intervene when needed to maintain safety. Enhance children's play with language, toys, and activities
- Encourage and model social behavior and expectations which are developmentally appropriate
- Share ideas in planning a daily schedule which provides a balance of activities: quiet/active, indoor/outdoor, fine/gross motor, etc.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
