JOB DESCRIPTION:
Kentucky State Police Information Technology Branch is seeking individuals to work on the Help Desk (Tier 1) as a help desk technician. The KSP Help Desk is a 24/7/365 support center for all KSP network and system operations. The Kentucky State Police Help Desk provides Information Technology phone and remote support for Law Enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth.
SCHEDULE:
3rd shift:
- Tuesday night 9 pm – Wednesday morning 7:30 am
- Wednesday night 9 pm – Thursday morning 7:30 am
- Thursday night 9 pm – Friday morning 7:30 am
- Friday night 9 pm – Saturday morning 7:30 am
TRAINING SCHEDULE:
The first month on the job will be the day shift (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm) to allow for training before moving to permanent shift days/time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Main responsibility is to be the first contact for incoming help desk calls and create tickets.
- Troubleshoot problems with desktops, notebooks, Mobile Data Terminals, in-car video recorders, printers, network connectivity, other law enforcement technology, etc.
- Use remote tools to help fix hardware and software issues
- Collects data for support personnel and creates tickets for Tier 2 and above support.
- Performs other standard help desk and operational functions, including entering, executing, and monitoring production systems.
- Assists with and maintains the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Kentucky network.
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned or needed by the agency.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must submit to a fingerprint support background check through Kentucky State Police’s automated system using IdentGO.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
