Role Overview:
As the Chief Financial Officer at SOULCHI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our organization during this critical pre-revenue phase. You will lead financial planning, drive investment strategies, and ensure the alignment of financial practices with our overarching mission and objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a purpose-driven company with a strong commitment to social impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with SOULCHI's mission, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
2. Investment Planning: Lead the development of investment plans and financial models to support fundraising efforts, including the upcoming angel investor round.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the creation of accurate budgets and financial forecasts, including projected staffing costs, providing insights to support decision-making processes.
4. Financial Reporting: Establish robust financial reporting mechanisms to provide transparent insights into the financial health of the organization.
5. Fundraising Support: Collaborate with the executive team to prepare for fundraising activities, including the preparation of investor materials and financial documentation.

- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Experience with fundraising and investor relations.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Equity-Based Compensation Opportunity:
As part of the SOULCHI team, you'll take part in our equity-based compensation model, aligning your success with the success of our business. After much research, we have found the fairest equity model for a startup. We use the Slicing Pie model. The first phase is equity-based only, which we are currently in. Equity calculations move dynamically based on your fair market rate and actual number of hours worked. In the second phase, which happens at the break-even point, the equity freezes at each member's current earned percentage, and compensation switches to salary + benefits. Your equity percentage gets paid out annually as part of the profit sharing. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to own a piece of the future.
We request you only apply for this position if you believe an equity-based model is the perfect fit for you. A more detailed explanation from the professor who created the model can be found on Youtube, "Pie Slicer Equity Split Software" by Slicing Pie. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bjT71MAF2s)
