Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving/Distribution Coordinator to join our team. Responsible for overseeing and completing all aspects of receiving food, supplies, and other elements to support our award-winning nutrition programs that serve the community. Primary tasks will be to receive, check, track, document, store, repack, and distribute incoming items and train and oversee volunteers who will assist with these tasks, as directed. Coordinate and supervise the distribution of meals and groceries. Must be available to work M-F days, with occasional non-standard work hours.
Duties:
- Coordinate inbound shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
- Inspect deliveries for damage and accuracy
- Ensure all received items are correctly labeled and stored
- Update inventory records to track items
- Communicate with suppliers regarding discrepancies or issues with shipments
- Assist with order fulfillment and distribution tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Follow simple and complex instructions through to completion with minimal supervision
- Keep program participant information confidential
- Work in an efficient, respectful, team-enhancing manner
- Drive company vehicles for pick up and delivery of meals, food, supplies, and other items
Skills:
- Computer skills required: MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Data entry, calculations, and reports.
- Prior experience safely managing inventory, including strong organizational skills and experience operating a pallet jack, moving carts and racks, and practicing safe stacking limits.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Analytical/problem-solving skills
- Licensed driver in the State of Washington, with excellent driving skills and record
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to prioritize/handle assignments and deadlines. Ability to handle the tasks of a fast-paced commercial kitchen and community service environment

- Ability to perform order picking and packing duties efficiently
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or distribution center setting
- Capability to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
Preference is given to applicants with food safety skills and knowledge
Preference is given to applicants who have educated themselves about Women & Children’s Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen and its services before a scheduled interview.
Preference is given to applicants with experience at a nonprofit organization providing similar services.
