5 + years preferred. Petroleum electrical experience preferred. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to read plans, safety manuals and blueprints.
- Lead a small crew (3-5) of electricians and helpers assigned to a project.
- Ability to bend and run conduit.
- Must demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill of electrical type construction and apply hands- on supervision with effective leadership.
- Maintain a good understanding of other foreman specialties such as labor, mechanical, concrete and civil as related to the electrical discipline.
- Must be able to maintain a ready stock of material to ensure an uninterrupted work flow.
- Must be able to identify any conflicts with other trades and build a strategy to resolve issues. (i.e., Concrete, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.)
- Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player.
- Maintain knowledge of correct use of trade specific tools for electrical installations and correct use of electrical testing equipment.
- Should display expertise in conduit installation.
- Maintain a working knowledge the NEC.
- Train lower-level Electrical mechanics and semi-skilled employees to bring them up to speed with demands of specific electrical projects.
- Become familiar with all work-related documents such as drawings, manuals and question requirements that are not clear or appear to be in conflict
- Identify improvements that can be made on-site and communicate with Superintendent.
- Work independently to complete responsibilities.
- Must have regular, reliable attendance.
Qualifications:
- VA. Journeyman’s preferred, not required.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of (5) Three years Commercial Electrician experience within the trade.
- Must not have bulk of Electrical experience centered in the residential field.
- Previous supervisory responsibilities required, in the form of identifying quality talent and developing growth in talent new to the Electrical Trade.
- Expert knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and instruments associated with the trade.
- Must be able to work effectively with others.
- Must be a steady, reliable worker.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow complex instructions.
- Must be self-motivated and able to complete responsibilities with minimal direction.
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) Drug Screen, and DMV check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
Position compensation is based on experience.
