National Addiction Specialists is an outpatient clinic located in Brentwood, TN, offering telemedicine opioid addiction treatment programs. We use innovative technology to provide ease of care and remove barriers for our patients. Our treatment process includes three primary phases: induction, stabilization, and maintenance. By providing HIPAA-compliant telemedicine services, we aim to make overcoming addiction more accessible and convenient for individuals.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide peer support services to individuals recovering from opioid use disorder through virtual platforms. You will work collaboratively with our treatment team and admin staff to support patients in their recovery journey while they receive medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Engagement:
Welcome and assist patients in the onboarding process, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
Verify patient information, update records, and collect necessary documentation.
Appointment Scheduling:
Coordinate telehealth appointments and manage the clinic's virtual schedule.
Communicate appointment details, including onboarding instructions and program requirements, to patients
Insurance Verification:
Verify patient insurance information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date details.
Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage for addiction treatment services.
CPRS Involvement:
Provide peer support services via telehealth platforms to patients enrolled in our treatment program.
Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and model successful recovery strategies.
Utilize your expertise in addiction counseling and mental health counseling to assist clients in their recovery journey.

Assist patients in developing and implementing recovery plan.
Conduct one-on-one sessions to offer emotional support and encouragement.
Help patients navigate healthcare systems and community resources.
Maintain organized, accurate and timely documentation of patient information, communications, and other relevant data.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Communication and Collaboration:
Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
Collaborate with the clinical team to relay important patient information and updates.
Billing Support:
Assist with billing-related tasks, including co-pay collection and payment processing.
Address patient inquiries regarding billing and financial matters.
Confidentiality and Compliance:
Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations in handling patient information.
Stay updated on relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Current certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or Supervisor in TN
- Personal lived experience with substance use disorder recovery
- Minimum of two years certification and continuous recovery
- Familiarity with medication-assisted treatment
- Proficiency with computers and telehealth technologies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems for individuals in recovery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours based on client needs
- All final candidates will be requested to participate in a background check as a condition of our awarded THRIVE grant funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a telehealth environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Additional certifications in addiction counseling or related fields
This is an office-based position.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32 per week
