Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Budget and Program Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing budgetary analysis, forecasting, and financial management for our programs and initiatives. The Budget and Program Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient allocation of resources, monitoring spending, calculating burns and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The person in this role will work onsite at the Arlington, VA location 2 days per week.
Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive program budgets exceeding $50 million, including budget forecasting and tracking of expenditures.
- Calculate burn rates and analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
- Conduct budgetary analysis to assess program performance, variance analysis, and adherence to financial objectives.
- Utilize Excel and other financial software to create complex financial models, reports, and dashboards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to address budgetary concerns and provide financial guidance.
- Lead performance reviews of program budgets, assess financial performance, and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Provide low-level program management support, including coordinating budget planning activities, resource allocation, and reporting.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in budget analysis, financial management, or related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets of $50 million or more.
- Proficiency in Excel and other financial software for budget forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to conduct budgetary analysis, interpret financial data, and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Client stakeholder management experience and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Experience with performance reviews and program management at a low level.
