BUSINESS IMPACT STATEMENT Responsible for supporting the company’s overall corporate reputation and company positioning; managing media coverage of sensitive issues; leading financial communications PR plans; and delivering timely, informed counsel to key business partners.
Support broader company corporate reputation strategy, including identifying areas to position Kohl’s as a leader in corporate citizenship.
Cultivate strong relationships with key business partners across the organization, including field leadership, loss prevention, human resources, legal, customer service, social media, DEI and sustainability, and other key internal partners in various situations.
Stay well informed on current global and national events, government affairs, and relevant topics/issues that could impact the company. Share notable news coverage with business partners and leadership.
Conduct audits and analyses to inform recommendations and deliver timely, informed counsel with rationale.
Help manage field incidents, escalated customer issues and sensitive issues with informed counsel and communication recommendations.
Serve as a key partner in vetting various company initiatives and plans to ensure they align with Kohl’s purpose and values and fit within the current news cycle.
Lead development of various issues reports and trackers to ensure leadership and key stakeholders are in the know.
Manage company awards program, including proactively identifying award opportunities that benefit Kohl’s.
Lead development of company fact book, published annually.
Create and communicate project timelines and meet key milestones and deadlines, moving with speed and agility to kick off, progress and complete projects.
Deliver informed first drafts of written materials. Conduct research and work with partners to address questions and gather information to inform materials.
Track and recap results, as appropriate, to demonstrate the value and importance of corporate reputation.
Demonstrate consistent proficiency in communications and team processes and procedures, including but not limited to creating communication materials (talking points, holding statements, etc.), corporate site updates, media audits, media inquiries, field incidents, media monitoring, and tracking measurable results.
