Job Summary:
The Analytical Chemist specializing in LC/MS Mass Spectrometry will be instrumental in advancing our toxicology testing capabilities. This role involves conducting sophisticated analyses, developing and optimizing LC/MS methodologies, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability in results. Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Operations, you will be a key player in our commitment to excellence in toxicological analysis, efficiency optimization and technological advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced LC/MS mass spectrometry analyses with a focus on toxicology.
- Develop, validate, and optimize LC/MS methods for toxicological analysis.
- Complete validation summaries
- Ability to review and certify data
- Ensure compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and other regulatory standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of LC/MS instruments.
- Collaborate with the team to improve laboratory processes and techniques.
- Conduct data analysis, interpret results, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Train and mentor junior staff in LC/MS techniques and toxicology-focused methodologies.
- Participate in research and development projects, contributing to advancements in the field.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of LC/MS mass spectrometry, particularly in toxicological applications.
- Proven experience in method development and validation for LC/MS.
- Ability to review and certify data for releasing results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and professional work ethic.
- Track record of high-quality work and adherence to laboratory standards.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in LC/MS mass spectrometry, preferably in a toxicology setting
