Job Title: Patient Services Representative (Bilingual in Spanish and English!)
Location: Our leading healthcare client in Las Vegas, NV.
Pay Range: $18-21/hr DOE
Job Summary: As a Patient Services Representative at the Transplant Institute, you'll be at the forefront of patient relations, ensuring a positive experience for all individuals. Reporting to the Front Desk Section Supervisor, you'll manage clinic schedules, handle complaints, and facilitate smooth clinic flow. Your role is crucial in maintaining accurate patient records, managing authorizations, and providing excellent customer service.
Job Duties:
1. Patient Relations:
- Act as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and various departments.
- Resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally, addressing billing issues, access problems, and other related issues.
2. Administrative Tasks:
- Update patient demographics and insurance information in EPIC and the Transplant database.
- Collect co-pays, provide necessary forms, and ensure smooth patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Maintain clinic schedules in the EPIC system, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate patient needs.
3. Authorization Management:
- Confirm Medicare and MediCal eligibility and obtain insurance authorizations when required.
- Provide necessary information for authorization of return visits and tests to Central Registration and Authorization.
4. Customer Service:
- Initiate clinic flow by greeting and assisting patients and visitors with excellent customer service.
- Serve as a central resource for patient inquiries, providing information on rights, advance directives, and available services.
Job Specifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and office equipment.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and problem-solve effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of six months of customer service or office experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Experience in insurance verification and authorization is preferred.
