This a remote position in Georgia with occasional travel to Atlanta.
Job Summary:
The Medicaid Specialist will assist the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program (EDWP) clients who do not have active Medicaid eligibility [Potential Medicaid Assistance Only (PMAO) or Medicaid Assistance Only (MAO)], with the Medicaid Application process and will follow with the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) to ensure the clients’ eligibility process is complete. The specialist will also be responsible for billing clients in the GAMMIS system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitors PMAO and MAO referrals and census data.
· Assists EDWP clients with the Medicaid Application process and renewals.
· Completes and uploads necessary provider forms to Georgia Gateway
· Maintains Medicaid documentation in accordance with EDWP operating procedures and policies as well as auditing entities for Medicaid.
· Utilizes time management techniques when scheduling patients and planning daily work activities.
· Potential to manage a team of virtual assistants.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma and 2 year’s experience OR Associate’s degree in related field and 1 year experience in Medicaid billing.
· Knowledge of Georgia Medicaid
· Experience with GAMMIS billing
· Experience in EDWP/CCSP waiver program preferred. Leadership experience preferred.
· Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with clients, service providers, general public, and other staff members.
· Satisfactorily complete a criminal background check.
· Participate in agency and program orientation, and annual continuing education as required by program.
