The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is seeking an experienced and organized Human Resources Recruiter to join our team and help us find great talent for our agency. Under general supervision, the HR Recruiter provides multiple human resources services in support of an organization. As an individual contributor, the Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies based on the market conditions and the need to locate qualified individuals to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
This position is located at the GDOL main office in downtown Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains recruiting industry knowledge and gathers information to be informed about recruiting industry trends, tactics, and tools.
- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process including “hard to fill positions.”
- Develops social media presence
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners and department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Works with Business Services Recruiters leveraging their resources to aid in recruitment efforts.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
- Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
- Uses key metrics to measure success for recruiting efforts.
- Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and department policies.
- Develops relationships with identified sources for candidates including participation in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Experienced in recruiting via social media platforms.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of human resource experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level HR Generalist 1 (HRP010) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
