Position Summary:
The primary responsibility in this position is to manage the functions of the front office including patient in-take and related administrative duties. This is a full-time position.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Front Desk Supervisor
Responsibilities/Essential functions:
- Greet patients and check in/out patients
- Collect co-pay, verify insurance, scan insurance cards, print encounter forms
- Confirm patient appointments, verify demographics and insurance
- Schedule appointments
- Answer phones, take phone messages for providers and send as patient message
- Sign for UPS/USPS/FedEx
- Ensure patients are signing up for samples when given
- Handle drug representative relationships and visits to office
- Scan all patient records and documents
- Add referring doctors in PM
- Balance money received at front desk at the close of business each day
- Clean waiting room and ensure its tidiness throughout the day
- Adhere to Company policy and guidelines, as well as applicable Federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Effective verbal, reading, and listening communication skills
- Perform basic business math skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience using Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Work in medical office environment or other healthcare related workplace
- Prior experience as receptionist/front desk
- General knowledge of patient insurance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally, along with frequent pushing, pulling or moving of carts containing supplies.
- Ability to answer phones, work on computer, handle paper records ….
- Regular movement throughout throughout the office that requires prolonged periods of sitting, as well as standing, lifting, walking, kneeling, and stooping.
