Caliber is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join our team! We are looking for a person with leadership experience in the diesel/heavy equipment industry. This individual will be responsible for supervising the team, overseeing equipment/vehicles by assembling, maintaining, and repairing. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of equipment, engines, and mechanical systems while adhering to all safety procedures and protocols. To excel in this role you must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. Basic hand tools and satisfactory driving record are required. Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug test and physical.
Responsibilities
- The Fleet Supervisor will oversee vehicle & heavy equipment acquisition, maintenance, and compliance, ensuring Fleet Department adherence to company Fleet operational guidelines.
- The ideal candidate will have a background in the management of fleet vehicles & equipment maintenance and repair.
- Manage vehicle & heavy equipment logistics for the department, including procurement, maintenance, and transportation with emphasis on attention to detail and follow-up.
- Maintain maintenance operations per company guidelines.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization/demobilization and maintain utilization of equipment in the area of responsibility.
- Develop yearly overhead and equipment budget.
- Develop and maintain relations with outside vendors and internal customers.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Skills
- Excellent organizational and management skills required.
- Must have computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors required.
- Strong negotiation skills are required.
- Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: Utility/construction fleet-related business experience required.
- Minimum Educational Background: Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
