We are looking for a Safety Manager for a Trucking Company with 150 plus trucks to join our team and implement various Safety Programs. We have been in business for 15 years and have an exceptional culture. Your role as a Safety Manager will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll undertake a wide range of Safety Management tasks, like training, administering driver coaching on preventable events, while managing safety policies. You will use Human Resources Information Systems and other Driver programs to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You’ll act as the main point of contact for Drivers when it comes to Safety queries. The goal is to ensure the Safety department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization. This role will report to the Safety Director.
- Collaborate with management to develop, prepare and implement health & safety policies & procedures.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and accident/injuries to institute behavioral change that leads to a safer environment· Manage accident & injury cases
- Perform safety inspections & audits to assess employee compliance with safety initiatives.· Monitor compliance with Hours-of-Service regulations, ELD usage, pre/post trip inspections and FMCSA· Develop, implement, and supervise the company driver safety program
- Conduct post-accident and post-injury investigations; root cause analysis; and ensure proper completion of required documentation and reporting to the proper agencies· Manage and oversee auditing of driver logs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and handle DOT complaints under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Partner with Human Resources on Driver Application approvals.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis.
- Achieve safety goals and metrics.
- Own safety core processes
- Claims processing and knowledge of Workman's Comp.

Requirements:
- 3 - 5 Years’ experience in working in transportation safety (required).
- Bachelors Degree (preferred)
- Experience with DOT.
- Experience with Workers’ Compensation.
- Extensive knowledge of current safety policies & applicable OSHA standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training & educate staff.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of McLeod a plus.
