Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. We are looking for Behavior Technicians to join us as we begin to open a new recovery center and sober house. As a Behavioral Technician in Substance Abuse Treatment, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders to navigate their recovery journey. You will work closely with licensed professionals in implementing therapeutic interventions, monitoring client progress, and providing crucial support to facilitate positive behavioral changes.
Responsibilities:
- Client Support and Monitoring:
- Provide direct support and supervision to clients during treatment activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Monitor and document client behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment interventions.
- Implement behavior modification strategies and crisis intervention techniques as necessary.
- Therapeutic Interventions:
- Assist licensed professionals in implementing individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, psychoeducational workshops, and other therapeutic activities under supervision.
- Utilize evidence-based techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to support client recovery.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain open communication with the treatment team, including clinicians, case managers, and support staff, to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders such as family members, social services, and community resources to support client recovery goals.
- Provide regular updates on client progress, challenges, and achievements to the treatment team.
- Crisis Intervention and De-escalation:
- Recognize and respond effectively to crisis situations, employing de-escalation techniques and following established protocols.
- Work collaboratively with team members to address emergent issues and ensure the safety of clients and staff.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements governing confidentiality and client rights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant experience in substance abuse treatment, mental health, or behavioral healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of addiction recovery principles, evidence-based treatment modalities, and therapeutic techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and program requirements.
- Certification or willingness to pursue certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or similar credential may be required by some employers.
