Tunnel Project Manager
JW Fowler is a heavy civil contractor specializing in specializing in open trench and trenchless installations of deep large diameter pipeline utilities and in construction of water/wastewater treatment facilities for communities on the west coast. Specific Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for successfully managing profitable tunnel pipeline projects for local and state governments and agencies. · Responsible for well-planned and safe project
· Responsible for leading the project team (3-10 staff) and planning process, including contract administration
· Responsible for controlling costs and maintaining profitability in field construction operations.
· Provide clear expectations to project teams to ensure our operations are planned/scheduled and executed per company policy (ie the PM Manual etc).
· Lead and coordinate our field superintending staff onsite.
· Resolve/diffuse issues using open communication with employees and management.
· Coordinate with all parties to isolate problems and assists in developing solutions to these problems.
· Recognize, document/report, and strategize to mitigate project delays.
· Ensure that Tunnel and Trenchless Operations and conducted per OSHA (and other pertinent regulatory agencies) the Corporate Safety Manual. Integrate with a company safety representative.
· Ensure training and development of craft supervisors and employees.
· Perform daily inspections of craft work for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and adherence to specifications.
· Assure proper planning and communication is happening for all operations that you oversee.
· Establish budgetary guidelines for the job and ensure that cost control measures are being followed.
· Establish quality standards of jobs and ensure that quality assurance and company standards are being met.
· Supervise the development and progress of job schedules, coordination of work with other crafts, departments, contractors, and suppliers.
· Promote positive employee relations with all employees and management by treating all employees with dignity and respect.
What we’re looking for…
· Tunneling and or trenchless industry experience minimum of 5 years; 10+ years preferred.
· Demonstrated previous success as a Field Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager; previous field supervision experience, such as superintending preferred on Tunneling or Trenchless projects including installation of Support of excavation in headings, shafts etc.
· Demonstrated experience in planning tunneling and trenchless operations, familiar with risk and mitigation processes.
· Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, scheduling, project management, and accounting software
· Excels at reading and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and contracts.
· Working knowledge of various construction disciplines and safety regulations and how to apply them.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Advanced understanding of construction management, scheduling, and cost control
· Proven ability to control and supervise high functioning teams.
· Ability to give feedback in a professional and constructive manner.
· Enthusiastic, organized, and able to emphasize the importance of people’s contributions through career advancement and training

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $180,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
