Key Responsibilities:
As our Director of Patient Care Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our agency provides high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to all California and Medicare requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities of the Clinical Director:
- Operations: Overseeing and managing day-to-day operations of the agency.
- Clinical Leadership: Acts as the DPCS to meet Medicare Conditions of Participation.
- Patient Services: Coordinates and oversees all direct and indirect patient services provided by clinical teams.
- Acting Administrator: In the absence of the Executive Director/Administrator, assumes the role and authority of the Executive Director/Administrator.
- Guidance and Counseling: Provides guidance and counseling to coordinators and Clinical Supervisors, aiding in the continuous improvement of home healthcare services.
- Team Management: Assists Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and strategic planning.
- Patient Care: Contributes to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care for clinical personnel.
- Financial Oversight: Supports the Executive Director/Administrator in budget preparation and administration.
- Operational Analysis: Interprets operational indicators to detect changes in census, volume, or staffing levels.
- Performance Evaluation: Assists Clinical Supervisors in developing skills for clinician performance evaluation and takes part in hiring, evaluating, and terminating staff.
- Records Management: Oversees the maintenance of patient clinical records and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Inventory Management: Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment for patient services.
- Orientation and Training: Develops, implements, and evaluates orientation and in-service programs for organization personnel.
- Performance Improvement: Assists in evaluating organizational performance through performance improvement programs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensures the quality and safe delivery of home health services, upholding compliance with laws and ACHC standards.
- Policy Development: Develops and administers organization policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding licensure and certification.
- Clinical Management (if applicable): Provides oversight of patient care services and personnel, including patient and personnel assignments, coordination, and individualized care planning.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Carries out other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director/Administrator.
Qualifications: Must have experience as a DPCS in Home Health
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of healthcare management experience.
- Licensure: California valid RN license required
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proficiency in healthcare regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Clinical Knowledge: Understanding of clinical practices and patient care.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities for efficient healthcare service management.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to identify and address patient care and operational issues.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
- Computer Proficiency: Knowledge of healthcare management software and EHR systems.
- Professionalism: High standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations, including Medicare and Title 22.
- Collaborating with our dedicated team to maintain the agency's excellent standards of care.
- Implementing and improving policies and procedures to enhance the patient experience.
